Someone in the Road > 34th & 8th

I was riding down the highway when I thought I spotted someone in the road
Well I said, "You goin’ my way?"
But he turned his head and said, "Man, I don't know."
So I asked about his government, he turned his head and began to laugh
So I asked him, "What you runnin’ from?"
He said, "My man, I'm runnin’ from my past."

So we laughed aloud, and sang aloud
Then we drank a brew
I didn't think a thought about Mr. Brown, he's through.
Heard the loud, marching sound, revolution be coming through.
Don’t need to come around unless you're true
Someone in the road.

We kept on driving down that road for about an hour and a half.
The way that we were moving left had myself reflecting in the past.
Tired of endless talking, stopped the car and started walking down a path.
I lift my spirit to my heart, Lord knows hatred will never last.

So we laughed aloud, and sang aloud
Then we drank a brew
Didn't think a thought about Mr. Brown, he's through.
Heard the loud, marching sound, revolution be coming through.
Don’t need to come around unless you been true.
Laugh aloud, sang aloud
And then we drank a brew
Don’t think a thought about Mr. Brown, he's through.
Heard the loud, marching sound, revolution be coming through.
Don’t need to come around unless you’re true.

And we laugh, when I think that we’re here
We be gone
Oh I try to live a life in love
Oh I laugh, and we can be
We’re all loved.
