Black Rock > Live From Madison Square Garden

Well on that black rock is where I spend my time
Writing down memories, I'm writing my rhyme
Thinking about what's right or wrong
On the black rock is where I love to go
After a long night coming home from my show
And that's where I wrote my songs all night long the black rock

Well sometimes, I just look around
And take in that feeling coming out from that ground
Well that's just something that I'm doing sometimes, hey hey hey
And when I, I'm out my door
And I'm pulling that wind up off the shore
And that's just what we're doing tonight, yeah

On that black rock where I spend my time
Writing down memories, I'm writing my rhyme
Thinking about what's right or wrong
Well on the black rock where I like to go
After a long night coming home from a show
That's where I wrote my song, all night long, the black rock, yeah
Montgomery County

When you are on your own
Not speaking out is like fighting alone
And that is the worst damn way we could fight
When you are scared no more
Reach your hand out, and knock my door
And that's just what we're doing tonight, yeah

On that black rock where I spend my time
Writing down memories, I'm writing my rhyme
Thinking about what's right or wrong
Well on the black rock where I like to go
After a long night coming home from my show
That's where I wrote my song, the day long, the black rock
Come on

One, maybe two, many year ago
One, maybe two, many year ago
Sat down on the black rock
And thought just a little too much for one day
I could have sworn that I made it
I could have sworn I was eighteen
I didn't know a damn thing but I was willing to learn
So I shut my mouth, opened up my eyes
Put down my disguise, I could see it all
That facade that I had build up didn't mean a damn thing at all
So when I head out route 28
Black rock chilling, became a state of mind
And a state of mind that I take wherever I've been
And gone, and been back again
And this old man, he busted through the trees
We had a smoke, maybe two, maybe three
Sat down in the breeze and got to talking just a little bit
He said, son you're living it all wrong
You must open your eyes, open your eyes
But from that day on I knew it was true
That black rock state of mind is mine
And I would take it to every state I went to, and beyond
You see for me, it was easy to change
I started seeing people for what they were
And that love gave me all the living that I needed to do
And now ten years gone, I feel the same way that I did black rock living with you
And the old man taught me everything that I need to know
But what's your name old man?
But what's your name old man?
He said I'm old man time

And my son, well I've been waiting for you so long
I can see that you're in pain
And I know that there's something wrong
I know that you've been angry
I know that you've seen hate
I know that you've been angry
I know that you've seen hate
I know that you've been angry
I know that you've been angry
I know that you've been angry
I know I am angry

At this blood (blood) blood (blood)
Pouring all over me
Is this blood (blood) blood (blood)
Filling my mind and I cannot see
Feel the blood (blood) blood (blood)
Pumping in my veins
Let's take all this blood, turn it into love
On the black rock
