About an Hour Ago > Rain Or Shine

There was a man on the road about an hour ago
And he went looking for a ride to New Mexico
We been driving by way too fast to know

So then we got to the place on a high-speed chase
I see my girly in the corner with a plastic face
And then she disappeared without a trace
I said without a trace

Now we're sitting back, sipping some beers
There's a man telling stories about his inner fears
We was all choked up, too close to tears

So we're movin' on up to a couple margarita
I made a couple faces at a couple senorita
Playing drinking games, but she too gone to be with me

So now my car broke down about an (hour ago)
We were headed on down to New (Mexico)
Well we did not see the gas was low

Hey hey, that gas was low
The gas was low, so low, so low
I lost my soul out on them roads
A couple of years back
But Mike when you play, it takes me right back, back

Oh, no, I think I've gone too far
I think I've lost my mark
I got to get back to the way it used to be
At least that's what they say
We say now is no good, it used to be so right
We used to not be confused through the night
But if I remember what I used to be
Tied up and lost all the time
I guess now is fine, I'm feelin good
I try to live, try to breathe
The best that I could

And if only I could give it all
Down one, just one step down
I would give it all
I would die just to give it all
I guess that's the only way to live after all
But we say back then, back then was so good
But I think now is just fine, I feel good
Do you feel it? I mean it do you feel good?
Are these roads too long for you
No we keep on
I burn holes in the bottom of my boots just to get when I'm going

I know I can make it, I know I can make it if I try
I gotta let love live inside me for awhile
And maybe later on I'll see you all after a show
And we'll talk about what happened here in Chicago about an hour ago

I know, I know it
I am a different man
Different man than I was
I'm gonna find my way home
Gonna find my way home
