Reviews Great show!! Solid setlist!! Citizen Cope killed it as the opener. Good music. OAR was on point last night. In all my years of going to OAR concerts, I dont think I've ever heard SO MOVED ON & DESTINATION live in person. Sounded awesome and they rocked it!! A great mix of old and new versions of older songs. Cool to hear the classic intro to City On Down. Personally, I like the Mikel Paris organ intro but its nice to change it up now and again with the 59th Street Bridge intro. The encore - forget about it. SOLID THROUGH & THROUGH!! Stellar that they played OVER & OVER. That is there newest song. I love OVER & OVER. Marc says he loves that song too. Very cool they played FOOL IN THE RAIN. I wonder if it had anything to do with the fact that their Hershey show got post-poned the other night due to storms. Anyway....Mike Paris sounds phenomenal during OVER & OVER and rocked it during LAY DOWN and most notably during MR MOON. Overall SOLID SOLID night. The only downfall was during the show (around Black Rock) two douche bags behind me started f**k'n with my mic stand. They did it during Black Rock and again during another. I finally got security to kick them out. THANK YOU TO BETHEL SECURITY!! Douche bag teen meatheads: keep your stupidity to the lawn. Other than that, great night. Bethel is a BEAUTIFUL venue to say the least. I will be going back next summer there for OAR. It was very surprising that there were a TON of empty seats behind the soundboard but tons of people on the lawn. Maybe they didnt sell those tickets. In any case it def wasnt a sold out house. Underrated venue and underrated band. OAR IS AWESOME!!!! (to say the least). Another KEY POINT: Marc was giving alot of love to a little (guestimate) 5 year old girl down in the front row. It was her very first OAR concert. Marc gave her his guitar pick & at the end of the show she got Chris Culos' drumstick. In fact, during his drum jam during poker it slipped from his hand and went rolling towards the front of the stage. Benj then handed the drumstick to the little girl after the song ended. GREAT VENUE - GREAT BAND!! Need I say more? (although I've written a novel+1 here.
Last but NOT LEAST....I recorded the show so I will be posting my recording tonight (August 8th). Hopefully the jigging of my mic stand by the douchebag teens didnt come across into my recording.
OH YEAH one more thing: Marc spotted me specifically during 'Shattered' while I was singing along with my finger in the air pointing to him and he says "appreciate it" -dmbgreystreet05 August 8, 2010
decent show and setlist, crowed was very lame, and the venue wasnt nearly halfway full. Could barley hear the singing during delicate few. What made my night was talking to marc and getting a picture with him after the show on his way to the bus. Overall bethel is beautiful, but not enough fans come to it, bummer, could be as good as SPAC. -sjsharkteeth August 8, 2010
ANOTHER AMAZING NIGHT! BACK TO BACK SHOWS! I LOVE Bethel, what a beautiful place. The arena alone is worth the price of admission, add in O.A.R. and I'm sold on this place! I know the attendance wasn't that high, but everybody down front was having a great time! I think if O.A.R. sticks with this place, the numbers will jump within the next year or so. I brought my friend who is a huge DMB fan to this, his first O.A.R. show, and he had a great time... so I think I have converted a new fan out of him! As for the show its self... Revisited was killer to open! First time I have heard Destination since 2005! Night Shift! Delicate Few! So Moved On! WOW! The Hey Girl, Shattered, and Love and Memories was a little personal rough patch for me (not all my most favorite of songs) but I still have a an amazing time no matter what they play. I also got Jerry's Love and Memories guitar pick which was excellent! I saw a scan of the original set list, and instead of playing Heard the World, Lay Down, and Mr. Moon, they originally had If Only She Knew and Patiently on there... damn I wish they played those two, but oh well. 59th St. Bridge into City is AMAZING, really brought back some good concert memories from a few years back. Encore was good, again I love Over and Over, Fool two nights in a row was great too, This Town really has killer energy live, and Poker is Poker... always a winner! Well I'm out until Columbia, Maryland! -CityOnDown1130 August 8, 2010
