City on Down > sax

This is a sax tab for the riff that Jerry has been using most recently,
heard on the Live at Madison Square Garden CD.

--------On Tenor:

Organ Intro:

A-D-F#-A, F#-G-F#
A-D-F#-G, F#-D-E
A-D-F#-A, F#-G-F#
A-D-F#-G-F#-G-A-B-A (Repeat until beginning of Yeaaaah's)

D, D, D, D-B-A-D-E-F#
D-D, D, F#-F#-G-F#-E
D, D, D, D-B-A-D-E-F#
D-D, D, F#-G-A-A-G-F#-E (Main riff: use after the first "City on Down")

When Marc starts to sing "Yeaaaah," etc...
my favorite "Jerry lick" was when he did something like this:

F#-E-D, D, D-B-D-F#-A-(gliss)B-A
F#-G-A-B-A-G-F#-E-F#-G-F#-E-D

If last time before Benj's solo, add B-F#-F#-F#

---------------------------

I know that this is very complicated. It is meant to be done while either listening
to OAR or playing along. I will not help with solos. That should come from the player,
not some guidebook or tabbook over the internet. If you want to play like Jerry does,
listen to him and figure out some riffs while he plays. My only advise is to stick to
the D Major scale (on tenor, soprano) and the A Major (on alto, bari). Anything else
sounds very wrong.

Good luck, and keep playing sax.
