Reviews They just keep getting better. This show was off the charts. Another great night at Red Rocks and superior energy from the band. The stage was heavy on the fog and the speakers were heavy on Richie's guitar - which was very welcome. He was shredding it up all night, even Love & Memories had a killer guitar solo.

Although I was apprehensive about the whole Philip Philips co-headlining deal, I was pleasantly surprised. Philips put on a pretty damn good show. I know he gets knocked for being a DMB ripoff, but hey if I can get a show that half resembles a DMB show that also has it's own feel to offer, then I'll take it. Overall I enjoyed his set. His band is actually what stuck out. His lead guitarist, cellist, and drummer were all awesome.

As for the O.A.R. set, I was happy to see them get 20 songs in and play just a few minutes under 2 hours. Of course all the staples were played, but damnit they look bad in paper but when you're at a show it just feels good no matter what they play. Everyone needs to quit ragging on these guys about setlist choices. They play songs they think the crowd will enjoy most and songs they can really play well in the given moment. This show was pretty heavy on SOAS though. BUT, they snuck some gems in like "Old Man Time", so that was great to hear.

I requested "King of the Thing" and they pulled through on that (Thanks!) and the cover of "Rude" sounded great, although it sounded like something they would write anyway so why cover it? MP showed off his guitar drumming skills during "Favorite Song" which I've been hoping he would utilize with O.A.R. The (second) cover they did, "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," was an awesome surprise and sounded absolutely amazing! Really really cool. Great show and great news they are coming back to Red Rocks October 4th! -TallSea June 15, 2014
