Reviews Great show! They played an awesome mix of new and old stuff, including opening with The Wanderer and Black Rock and closing with Hey Girl. Much better than the 8/2 Jones Beach show. -BrianLee2 August 19, 2008
Very fun...this was my first show!!!
I will definately be going to more, thanks to the band for giving people an opportunity to see a very intimate FREE concert.
Not sure I agree with Brian's comment re mix of new and old though, only from the perspective that 6 of the 11 were off of All Sides (I guess since many of the All Sides tunes have been played earlier?). Love and Memories, Poker, and Hey Girl were kind of givens, leaving only Wanderer and Black Rock as surprises. -JohnnyPoker August 20, 2008
HUGE O.A.R. fan!! Been listening everyday for over a year now. I have every album and have downloaded a ton of shows from this site. I have only made it to one show though. I love the old albums. "Stories of a Stranger" and "All Sides" are good but, nothing beats "Risen" or "Souls Aflame."
Just one suggestion. I think the band needs to mix up the setlists from nignt to night. If you look at the setlists from the last month or two, they are playing the same songs every night. What happened to "Right on Time?" They havent played that song in over two years. Or how about "Ladanday", "Heres to You" and "Toy Store"?
All i'm saying is to mix it up. There are even songs from the new album they havent played yet like "Gift." Give that one a try. Also, Poker should never be played without an intro. That is the best part!! The intro from deeprockdrive and MSG 07 are the best. 34th and 8th intro to Poker is kick ass as well.
Just wondering if anyone else has noticed the similar setlists from night to night?
Next time O.A.R. is in Wisconsin I will definatly be there!! Also, I would like to appolgize to the band on behalf of the fans from Wisconsin. I thought the crowd was horrible at summerfest on July 2nd. Please dont throw shit on stage, I could tell Marc was getting irritated. Please guys, dont shy away from coming back to Wisconsin. Hope to see you soon.
R.I.P LeRoi Moore. You will be missed. -Ladanday86 August 21, 2008
