Reviews So here’s the deal... The venue was amazing. I was blown away by its beauty and scenery. The openers were fantastic. I loved the New Respects and Matt Nathanson was great as usual.

Now onto OAR’s set. It was good. Don’t get me wrong. But I have to be honest, I was expecting more. I was expecting something extraordinary. Instead, I got 15 of the exact same songs out of 22 that I saw the weekend before at Ravinia... The band kept promoting the show as being something special, and I loved that Robert Randolph came out to play, but other than that, it was nothing extraordinary. I had no clue who the guy was that they pulled out of the crowd, and he duplicated what Mikel Paris already does with keys and percussion.

Anyway, again, I loved the venue and the guys did sound great, but I expected more (and different from the week before) when traveling from Illinois to the iconic Red Rocks venue. It’s show 35 for me, and I hope they mix it up a little more the next time I see them. -bigbruce97 September 12, 2018
