Dispatch and O.A.R., two of the most successful touring acts in the states, will hit the road together this summer for their first-ever North American Co-Headline Tour, which is scheduled to start in July 2022. Qello Concerts, with Red Light Management and Concord Music Group, announced today a first-of-its-kind original programming weekly series called Evolution of a Song centered on the mystifying process of songwriting. Each season, cameras will follow a band or artist as they create their next song. From the idea to the finished track, music fans will feel as though they're in the room as the process unfolds.
The first season of Evolution of a Song launches today with the featured band O.A.R. as they create, what they hope to be the next big hit that they'll perform on their upcoming tour. The first season will air exclusively on Qello Concerts beginning May 10th with a new episode each week through June and will be free for anyone to watch.

The album is also available for preorder on the band's official online store as of 10 AM this morning. This includes a limited edition vinyl pressing for the first time! All vinyl is hand numbered, limited to 1,000 pieces for the exclusive pre-order. The first 250 pre-orders of the limited edition vinyl will receive a hand-written lithographed copy of Marc's "Welcome to Rockville" letter. You will receive free digital downloads of "Peace," "So Good So Far," and "The Architect" upon completing your purchase of any media item.

Ten dates throughout November have just been announced as O.A.R.'s Tailgate Tour. As part of the Tailgate Tour, the band will be doing pre-show Tailgate Parties in select markets for radio and social media contest winners. In addition, during the pre-sale for the tour, fans can opt for the "Tailgate Package" which will include a signed tour poster and a live show recording along with a ticket for the show.

O.A.R.'s Live on Red Rocks CD and DVD will be available online and in stores on November 19th and is now available for pre-order. The CD is a 2-Disc CD Set with 22 tracks and is the band's first live album to include a horn section. The DVD contains the full concert in its entirety (with much of the footage shot by the band members themselves) as well as a 40 minute documentary of the band's Summer Crush Tour and the debut of "Inside Out".
When you pre-order the CD you will instantly receive two MP3 downloads from the Red Rocks show ("Road Outside Columbus" and "Ladanday") and when you pre-order the DVD you will receive a previously unreleased acoustic version of "Not For Me".

We are thrilled to announce that the next Heard the World Benefit Concert - "An Evening with O.A.R. featuring The Beethoven Found Philharmonic" - will take place on Friday, December 14th at The Music Center at Strathmore in N. Bethesda, MD. This will be an incredible night not to be missed as the band will be performing for the very first time with a symphony, The Beethoven Found Philharmonic.

Verizon Wireless American Music Festival

The 19th Annual Verizon Wireless American Music Festival in Virginia Beach, Virginia will feature three major headline bands on the 5th Street Main Stage between Aug. 31 and Sept. 2: O.A.R., Cheap Trick and Train. O.A.R will be the featured band beginning at 7:30 p.m., Friday, Aug. 31. Tickets for Friday are $15 advance, $20 day of show. The Wailers will be opening the show.

It appears that the band is going to be on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno on May 8th. Also scheduled to perform is B.o.B. But now it looks like the performance will be a collaboration between the two. According to XXL Magazine, the two recorded a song for a Duracell battery ad campaign that will air during the Summer Olympics.

Due to a family medical emergency, O.A.R. has canceled 2 of their tour dates this week - Wednesday, April 25th in Portland, ME & Thursday April 26th in Northampton, MA. Both of these dates have been rescheduled for Thursday, September 6th (Portland) and Friday, September 7th (Northampton). All current tickets will be honored on the new dates and refunds will be available at the point of purchase.

Dates for this summer's tour have officially been announced. Included in the months worth of dates is a return to Nikon At Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, New York. The band last played at this venue in 2008 after 7 summers in a row. Also the band will be a part of the inaugural Peach Music Festival on August 11. Opening for nearly all of the dates is Rebelution.

Bunbury Music Festival

The day after the just announced show in Indianapolis, the band will be traveling to Cincinnati for the first Bunbury Music Festival. They are set to play on July 13 and will be joined that day by Janes Addiction, Airborne Toxic Event, Minus the Bear, and others. Also playing throughout the weekend long festival are Weezer, Death Cab for Cutie, Gym Class Heroes, and many more.

The first date of the summer tour has been announced: July 12 in Indianapolis at the Lawn At White River State Park. This will be the 8th summer in a row with a show at this venue. Most people should be familiar with touring musician MikelParis. He has been playing regularly with O.A.R. since late 2005, jamming on the keys plus adding percussion and vocals too. But did you know that he also has produced his own album, Flow, released in 2007? Well he also recently released a new single titled "Great Unknown" that was co-produced with Jerry DePizzo. Jerry also plays acoustic guitar on the track with Richard On playing electric. Be sure to check it out!

O.A.R. has announced their Extended Stay, which will have the guys performing multiple nights in intimate venues in Washington, DC, New York City, and Philadelphia. The nine show run will begin on February 28th at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC and end on March 16th in Philadelphia at the Theatre of Living Arts. Specific show dates and venues are:
- February 28th & 29th at the 9:30 Club in Washington, DC
- March 6th through 10th at The Bowery Ballroom in New York, NY
- March 15th & 16th at the Theatre of Living Arts in Philadelphia, PA

Tickets for the band's 2012 tour dates are selling quickly (February 11th Minneapolis show is already Sold Out) so make sure to get yours soon. Two new dates have just been announced: February 15th at The Blue Note in Columbia, MO and February 16th at Minglewood Hall in Memphis, TN. First of all I would like to apologize for the recent downtime. I'm sure it came as a surprise to many of you, and the same is true for me. Due to some changes with our hosting company we were forced to upgrade the software that runs the back-end of our website. That took a considerable amount of time due to the complexity of the website. Not to mention other changes that were required in our code to comply with the updated architecture of our host. I think we have fixed all the issues, but there is always the possibility of new errors. Please let me know if you run into anything that is giving you problems or that is working differently than before. Hopefully now that the site is fully upgraded we can remain online for years to come!
Update (11.08.2011): Some of you may have noticed some hacking that was done to our news entries. This was due to an issue I made when updating our own code. This has been corrected. I can assure you that no personal information was compromised during the attack.
Update (11.09.2011): Contrary to earlier reports, the exploit had nothing to do with our custom code and was due to the back-end software. We've ugraded this software package to ensure that the hacking does not happen again. And we have now banned all past exploits to our system so these users cannot cause any further damage. Be gone and find your own playground.

The first twelve dates for 2012 have been announced. Most of them are in the western U.S. but the last few are around the midwest. Orlando Calling

The lineup for the first ever Orlando Calling festival was announced today and O.A.R. is scheduled to play Saturday, November 12th. The 50,000 person capacity event will take place on November 12th and 13th, with four stages of music. The headliners have been announced as Bob Seger, Kid Rock and The Killers. Tickets will go on-sale July 23rd. More information can be found at orlandocalling.com.

The standard release tracklist includes sixteen tracks, three of which are short interludes. The deluxe edition adds four bonus tracks and a DVD. The official O.A.R. website has been completely revamped for the forthcoming album release. We now know the release date is scheduled for August 2nd, thanks to a new page on the website that is dedicated to the release. Thanks to this page, we also know that the album will be called King and will include at least the following never before heard tracks: "Back To One," "Gotta Be Wrong Sometimes," "Taking on the World Today," and "Heaven." Add to that "Dangerous Connection," "Fire," "Gotta Live," "Over And Over," and "Irish Rose" and we have the makings for a great album!

The second weekend for the Dave Matthews Band Caravan has been announced and O.A.R. is in the lineup once again. The event will take place at Lakeside in Chicago, IL on July 8-10. Due to an earlier rumored tour date, we believe that O.A.R. will be playing on Sunday the 10th. The full lineup, as well as ticketing, travel, and lodging info is available at www.dmbcaravan.com.

On May 20th the band will be heading back to their second home, Columbus, OH for a special show at The LC Pavilion to help raise money for the Memorial Tournament Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. As anticipation grows over potential tour announcements, a few dates have appeared in various places. First is a show with Chiddy Bang at the University of Notre Dame on April 8th. Next is a date back in the band's second home of Columbus, Ohio on May 20th at the Lifestyle Communities Pavilion with The Floorwalkers. Marc will be playing a solo show next week in NYC on Wednesday, January 26. The event is for the launch of Dominion NY, which Everfine Records appears to have a big part of. Tickets for the event can be purchased here for $25, and are $30 day of show. I would plan on buying tickets soon as the venue doesn't appear to be very large and I'd be surprised if this doesn't sell out quickly.

O.A.R. returns to the Birds Nest for the third consecutive year on February 3rd at 8 pm during the Wast Management Phoenix Open. Gates will open at 3:30 pm with The Chadwicks opening at 6 pm. Birds Nest tickets go on sale January 3 through Ticketmaster and are just $25 for general admission. VIP tickets are also available for $175 which provides exclusive access to the Absolut Vodka VIP area. Heard The World Chartiy Concert

We are very excited to announce O.A.R.'s first ever fundraising event for their Heard The World Fund. For those of you not familiar, The Heard The World Fund was created by the band in 2007 to support and provide resources to youth, education and sustainable programs both in the U.S. and abroad.
Join the guys on December 18th for "An Evening with O.A.R. – A Heard The World Fund Charity Concert" at The Music Center at Strathmore in Bethesda, MD near the band's hometown of Rockville, MD. The concert will benefit two local charities, The Levine School of Music and Neediest Kids.
The Levine School of Music is one of the nation's leading nonprofit community music schools which serves 3,700 students and provides extensive scholarship and outreach programs. Neediest Kids is an organization that provides much-needed funds to purchase resources and arrange for access to goods and services for students to stay in school and thrive.
Each attendee of the event will receive a recording of the night's show as well as a special event poster. Front row tickets and a meet and greet with the band will be available via a ticket auction at www.charityfolks.com/oar. All proceeds from ticket sales as well as the ticket auction will be donated directly to the Heard the World Fund and distributed to the two beneficiaries of the event.

O.A.R. Photo Exhibit In NYC

On Thursday, August 19th join Benj and the rest of the guys from O.A.R. at The Morrison Hotel Gallery in New York City for “Rock, Cause (O.A.R.),†a documentary photo exhibit celebrating the bands upcoming 15 year anniversary. The showcase will consist of 25 original photographs of Benj’s that were taken while on the road. All images will be available for purchase on site and a portion of the proceeds will go to the band’s Heard the World Fund, which supports youth, education and sustainable programs in the United States and abroad.
The exhibition will open with a reception on Thursday, August 19th at 6pm for a private viewing and then will open to the public from 7pm to 9pm. It will be held at The Morrison Hotel Gallery at Bowery and Ble ecker, in the old CBGB’s space. Last June, O.A.R. asked you to help them write a song by submitting lyrics via twitter. After collecting submissions for 10 days on the @ofarevolution twitter page and much deliberation, the band chose 6 overall winners - 5 lyrical contributions, and one song title, "Light Switch Sky". The band created the music for "Light Switch Sky" using the lyrics as their driving inspiration. They recorded the writing sessions and shared them with you on their YouTube page.

The remaining TBA dates of the summer tour have been finalized with the announcement of July 17 at the Adler Theater in Davenport, IA. Pre-sale tickets for this show will be available beginning on Friday, April 23rd at Noon local time. The full list can be viewed here.

O.A.R. Returns To The U.K.

Some additional dates for the summer tour have been announced. First the band will travel to Toronto for a July 27th gig at The Phoenix. After a couple of other stops, they will also be making their way to Buffalo, NY on July 31st to play Buffalo Place Rocks the Harbor.
In addition to these dates, the band will also be making their way back to the UK for two special shows in June. On Friday, June 11th the band will be performing their second ever headlining show in London at The Relentless Garage located at 20 - 22 Highbury Corner. Tickets for this show will be available beginning on April 4th here. On Saturday, June 12th O.A.R. will be joining The Strokes, Vampire Weekend, The Hold Steady, Crowded House and many others for the 2010 Isle of Wight Festival. Two new dates have been announced today outside of the upcoming Summer Tour announcement. First the band will be playing the Preakness InfieldFest on May 15th with Grammy Award winners the Zac Brown Band. A second stage of music will feature Collective Soul, Mr. Greengenes and Jason Michael Carroll.
Then on July 1st, the band will once again be a part of Summerfest in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. After skipping last year's festival, the band will return for their 8th performance.

The band is reportedly upset to hear that many people were unable to make it inside the Birds Nest due to issues with the Fire Marshall. The venue has notified us that for those guests who purchased their tickets at the Birds Nest Box Office or at one of the on-course ticket booths, refunds will be honored today through Thursday, March 4th from 9 AM to 4 PM and Friday, March 5th from 9 AM to 2 PM at the WM Phoenix Open Office (7226 N. 16th St. #100, Phoenix, AZ, 85020). Those preferring to receive a refund by mail can mail their purchase receipt and unscanned ticket to the WM Phoenix Open Office. Unscanned tickets purchased through Ticketmaster must be refunded at the point of purchase (TM outlets, 800-745-3000).
Since not everyone that was planning to attend the show on Saturday was able to be there to enjoy it with the band, they are offering a FREE download of the Scottsdale show at Liveoar.com for this week only. Two new dates have recently popped up:
The band will headline the NFL's Super Bowl Saturday Night Concert and Fireworks Spectacular on Saturday, February 6th in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The concert is free and open to the public and will take place at Ft. Lauderdale Beach Park adjacent to the Sheraton Fort Lauderdale Beach Hotel on A1A (Seabreeze Blvd.) just north of Holiday Drive. Festivities will begin at 4 PM with a DJ set and NFL Films video programming followed by live music at 6 PM and concluding with a fireworks spectacular at 9:40 PM.
A year after bringing down the house at the 2009 Birds Nest, the band will return to Scottsdale and perform at the 2010 Coors Light Birds Nest on Saturday, February 27 during the upcoming Waste Management Phoenix Open. Tickets will go on sale beginning at 10 a.m. on January 16th through Ticketmaster. General admission tickets are $35 in advance or $40 the day of the show. O.A.R. has teamed up with Hard Rock International to be the Global Ambassador for their 2009 Imagine There’s No Hunger campaign to benefit WHY, a nonprofit organization that strives to fight against hunger and poverty in America and around the world.
To kick off the campaign, the band will be doing a very special performance at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square on Monday, November 9th. To gain entry to this show you will need to be one of the first 300 people to bring 5 non-perishable food items to one of the three Emergency Food Providers listed below:

After incredible experiences overseas with the troops in Iraq and Kuwait and visits to Fort Hood and Walter Reed Medical Center, the band has seen first hand the importance of helping out this new generation of veterans. In an effort to bring attention to these warriors, the band has partnered with the IAVA to create a website for people to learn more about the issues facing these young men and women and ways to help make a difference. In a recent Billboard interview with Jerry, it is reported that the next live album will be released this fall. The package will include four discs featuring both shows from Chicago's Northerly Island in their entirety. Only two songs were repeated, Poker and Shattered, but both were played acoustic the first night and electric the second. This should make for a great release!

This fall O.A.R. will be launching a new clothing line called the O.A.R. Collective. Partnering with Sportiqe Apparel the band has created designs for several of Sportiqe's most popular garments which will be sold exclusively at college bookstores. The initial launch of the O.A.R. Collective will take place at The Ohio State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison and the University of Florida-Gainesville but more schools will be added soon. O.A.R. recorded both nights in Chicago this past tour in hopes of having another live release by year's end. Jerry reports that he has spent hours upon hours going over these tapes and has to say that he, along with the rest of the band, is very happy. There are wonderful moments on those tapes created both on the stage and off. He can't wait for all of you to hear them.

ALL PROCEEDS will be donated to the Heard the World Fund which provides resources for under-funded educational and youth oriented programs such as the Children's Scholarship Fund.

Return Of Green Dream

After a very successful and award-winning program in 2008, the band is excited to bring back their Green Dream for the summer of 2009! This summer's Green Dream will be even bigger and better than before.
The Green Dream was created last year to create an environmentally friendly concert environment. Partnering with Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and the thousands of concert goers last summer, close to 1 ton of recyclable materials were collected.
This summer the band, along with SAIC, have created the Green Dream Eco-Village, a place where you will be able to go to learn about environmental sustainability, win prizes (posters and a signed guitar will be offered at each concert) and ways to become involved with O.A.R., SAIC and the EPA. Even more importantly, Recycling Centers will be set up throughout the venues this summer which we encourage everyone to use. We have extended the deadline for video submissions for the "This Town" Video Contest until May 31st at midnight EST. All copyright issues that you may have experienced previously have now been resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience these may have caused.
In case you missed it, the contest involves you creating a video showcasing your town set to the music of "This Town" and submitting it to us via MySpace. Five videos will be selected to be featured on the band's MySpace page and the public will have the chance to vote on the best video. The individual who submits the winning video will receive a pair of premium tickets to see the band perform this summer as well as a chance to head backstage to meet the guys.

As the holidays roll in we are excited to announce this year's Heard The World Charity Contest. Last year's contest inspired so many people to help in their communities and abroad and we are thankful to everyone who participated.
For this year's contest we want to shine a light on the non-profit organizations that do so much to make a difference in our world. If you know of a non-profit charity organization whose efforts you feel deserve extra recognition this holiday season, please email us and tell us all about them. Of the entries we receive we will select the top three most deserving and reward both the non-profit organization as well as the person who submitted the information to us.
The top pick will receive 4 tickets and a meet and greet with the band at a show of their choosing in 2009. Plus, the Heard The World Fund will donate $5,000 to the organization. The second entry selected will be awarded 2 tickets to a show of the person's choosing in 2009 and $2,500 for the organization they shined the light on. The third selection will win $1,500 towards the non-profit organization they informed us about and a signed copy of the band's newest album, All Sides. To further honor those who are involved, we will be donating $700 to the Children's Scholarship Fund in each organization's name, which will provide one child a year of schooling.

You may have noticed some recordings popping up from "Live In A Flash" and here is some additional info on this promotion. At the next four shows of the band's All Sides Tour, you can bring home a live recording of that evening's show along with a copy of the band's new album, All Sides. O.A.R. will be performing live on The CBS Early Show this Saturday, August 2nd during the second hour of programming. Broadcast times vary regionally so check your local television listings for the program time in your area.
For those of you that live in the New York area, come on down and say hi to the guys. The performance will take place inside but the guys will be heading out to the plaza between songs to chat with the crowd outside. The studio/plaza is located at Fifth Avenue and 59th Street. This summer, at select shows, O.A.R. will be giving concert attendees a 20% discount card for the band's online merch store for every two (2) recyclable materials brought to the recycling centers that will be located inside and outside of the venues. The Green Dream Recycling Centers will be set up in the following cities: Bonner Springs, Chicago, Rochester Hills, Columbia, Philadelphia, Holmdel, Wantagh, Mansfield & Hartford.

We just finished a show in Kentucky and wanted to take this chance to catch you all up on what is going on with the new record before we let anyone else know tomorrow. In October we all moved out to Los Angeles to begin pre production on the record. We spent a few weeks reworking old songs and writing new ones. These were the best days in so many ways. Taking the time to map out what we wanted to do before we hit record was the best way to make an album. It was like being in the early years of this band. Hanging around writing songs together for nothing more than the pure enjoyment of being in a band. By the time November rolled around we were ready to go. Matt Wallace produced the record and we must thank him for seeing our vision and allowing us to be ourselves. That's really what this experience was all about. Getting on tape what we love to do in the most honest way we know how. And Matt provided the perfect atmosphere for us to create. The record is called All Sides and we are so proud of it. It comes out July 15th and we are excited for you to hear what we have been working on this past couple years.Click here for more information on the free tracks from Ticketmaster.
We also want to let you know we are trying to get some of the tracks out early. Through Ticketmaster you can get a couple of the tracks right away and another one a month before the record is released. If you buy two tickets to the summer tour there is an option to buy the record which will be delivered a day before the release date as well. Just trying to get this thing out there.
Anyway, we wanted to wait to talk about the album until we had all the details worked out. It has been killing us. We want nothing more than to share this album with you. It was a true labor of love.

As mentioned earlier, O.A.R. will be playing the Green Apple Festival after the canceling of the Gridiron Bash. We just received more information and O.A.R. will kick off the event in Washington D.C. with an acoustic set (Marc, Richard, Benj) on the National Mall at noon on April 20th. Jordan Sparks will sing the National Anthem and Will.i.am and The Roots & friends (Ne-Yo, Doug E. Fresh, Talib Kweli) will headline.

According to USA Today, all of the Gridiron Bash events throughout the country have been canceled. O.A.R. was scheduled to play the event in College Park, Maryland. However, early word is that the band will instead be performing at the Green Apple Festival scheduled to take place on April 20th on the National Mall.

O.A.R. has recorded the John Lennon song "Borrowed Time" for Instant Karma: The Campaign To Save Darfur, which features a two disc CD set and additional Internet only downloads from over 50 different artists. Although O.A.R.'s track is not part of the CD set, their track should be available on iTunes in the near future. In addition to June 5th being the release date for the new CD/DVD it is also the date for the theatrical premiere of OAR's new feature film "Behind the Backline" from Madison Square Garden 2007. There will be a one night only screening in digital theaters in select markets nationwide. The list of theatres and ticket information should be available on Tuesday. A new date has been added, August 1st @ A.J. Palumbo Center in Pittsburgh, PA. Pre-Sale tickets for the show will be available beginning April 27th at 10 AM local time.
General On-Sale Tickets for the June tour dates will be available beginning on April 28th at 10 AM ET with the exception of Vancouver which will be available beginning April 27th at 10 AM ET. Pre-Sale Tickets for the July and August tour dates are still available.
Joining the band this summer on the June tour dates will be Bedouin Soundclash (aside from Vancouver where the band will be joined by Jeremy Fisher). For the July and August dates, O.A.R. will be joined by the Augustana.

In an announcement at the Tempe Music Festival over the weekend, Marc announced that the Madison Square Garden CD/DVD will be released this coming June.

In a message board post, it was announced that audio/video taping will not be permitted at the Madison Square Garden show on this coming Saturday. Although this may appear to be bad news, typically when taping is not allowed it is because there are plans to professionally record the show for a future official release. Major League Baseball and Bud Light have teamed up to bring O.A.R. to Pittsburgh to kick off MLB All-Star weekend festivities with the first official All-Star Game concert. O.A.R. will headline the free concert at Chevrolet Amphitheatre at Station Square on Sunday, July 9th. The free tickets can be obtained through a special MLB promotion at Dick's Sporting Goods, in specially marked cases of Bug Light, from members of the Bud Light "Stree Team" in area bars and restaurants, or through Pittsburgh radio partners WXDX, WDSY, KDKA, WDVE, WRKZ and WZPT. The band is also scheduled to perform a two song set between the All-Star Futures Game and the Legends and Celebrity All-Star Softball Game. This year's Feeling Better Than Everfine festival will feature the acoustic debut of Marc Roberge and Matt Nathanson, taking the stage together for the first time at 5PM to open the festival on June 24th. Following that will be performances by Jon McLaughlin, Dropping Daylight, Bedouin Soundclash, Virginia Coalition, Matt Nathanson with his band, and of course O.A.R. Tickets for the festival are still available at Ticketmaster.com and are only $30! If tickets remain, they will cost $32 at the gate day of the show.
While at the festival be one of the first 100 people to stop by the Hard Rock Cafe booth to pick up a ticket for an acoustic performance and meet and greet. This event will take place on the day after the festival (June 25th) at 12:30PM at the Hard Rock Cafe in Cleveland.

The event will take place in the morning hours of St. Patrick's Day at Lulu's in Washington, DC. It's a free event, but you must be at least 21 years of age. The other event that O.A.R. will be a part of is this years 10000 Lakes Festival. O.A.R. joins friends and fellow musicians Matt Nathanson, Ari Hest, Marc Broussard, Howie Day, Stephen Kellogg and the Sixers, and Jack Johnson among others, on the upcoming Rock For Relief CD. The CD was created to raise funds to benefit the victims of recent natural disasters, including the Indian Ocean tsunamis, Hurricanes Katrina, Wilma and Rita, and the earthquake in Pakistan. Foundations and Zo/Rounder Records will be releasing the CD on January 31, 2006, but you can pre-order it now by clicking here.
All proceeds from the sales of the compilation will go to the nonprofit organization Mercy Corps, which will distribute the funds.

O.A.R.'s upcoming performance at the University of Washington on Halloween, 10.31.2005, will be broadcasted live on Sirius satellite radio beginning at 11PM EST. "Last year O.A.R. masqueraded as Guns N' Roses on Halloween, this year you can be a part of their masquerading madness," according to sirius.com. Devoted fans of the band and oarsa.org should know that last year the band performed dressed as pirates. They performed as Guns N' Roses two years ago. Regardless this will be a show not to miss, and everyone can tune in with a free three day trial of Sirius, see their site for more details.

Stories Of A Stranger debuted in the 40th position on the Billboard Top 200, which is higher than any of their other CD debuts. In comparison, In Between Now And Then debuted at #54, 34th & 8th hit the #80 spot, while Any Time Now was #156.In other news, O.A.R. will be featured of the front cover of the November issue of Relix Magazine. The issue, featuring a promo picture from the 34th & 8th photo shoot, will be hitting the news stands on October 25th. As it says on the cover, "The Revolution Starts Now."

A recent press release has given more details for the upcoming tour and album release. First is the new partnership with myspace.com, which will bring contests and activities on the road. Secondly, beginning tomorrow you can pre-order Stories Of A Stranger from ofarevolution.com. A third piece of news is that "Love And Memories" will be the first single and not "The Stranger" as previously announced. The Stranger EP, available on iTunes on August 30th, will have the studio versions of "Love And Memories" and "The Stranger" along with an acoustic version of "The Stranger." "Love And Memories" should begin hitting the radio on September 20th, although it has already been played on a few stations across the country.
Update: The pre-sale didn't quite make it online today. Look for it early next week. We'll post a link as soon as we can.
No Hammerstein In '05

Unfortunately O.A.R. will not be playing at the Hammerstein Ballroom on Thanksgiving this year. The show, which became a staple of O.A.R.'s tour because of their live album 34th and 8th, will be replaced by what the band is calling "something big for New York City in 2006." Not only was 34th and 8th recorded at the show in 2003, but a surprise appearance by Robert Randolph and the Family band in 2004 to perform Fool in the Rain seemed to put the show on the bands tour forever, even with the sound problems at the first show of the Thanksgiving double header last year. R.I.P. Hammerstein Thanksgiving.

Once again, more details for the October 4th release, Stories Of A Stranger, have been included in a news story, this time from billboard.com:
The set features such guests as Parliament keyboardist Bernie Worrell and singer/songwriter/Lava labelmate Toby Lightman. The latter's backing vocals can be heard on the album's lead single, "The Stranger," which will be promoted to U.S. radio outlets in late October.Read the full article.

In the latest issue of Relix Magazine there is some additional information on the next CD in the "Fall Preview" section:
Going into the studio with former Talking Head Jerry Harrison, the band is determined to deliver a album that once and for all stops the college-rock comments. 'It makes the last album look like a demo,' says manager Dave Roberge, indicating that out of the 20 tracks recorded, 12 or so will make it. Rock again meets reggae with big guitars and the help of funk-master Bernie Worrel on seven tracks. The band had also done some co-writing with Jeff Trott, Peter Zizzo, and Glen Ballard. "O.A.R. have begun work on their sophomore album for Lava Records with veteran producer Jerry Harrison of Talking Heads fame. Harrison has worked with a variety of artists including the Von Bondies and Live. The quintet entered Crystalphonic Sound Recording Studios in Charlottesville, Virginia during the month of May. Additional recording will take place in June at Chung King Studios in New York City. Several guest artists are tapped to appear on O.A.R.'s new album including musician Bernie Worrell of Parliament."

Paul Dryden has let us know that plans are to release O.A.R.'s next CD on September 27, 2005. Marc Roberge has said on OARfans.com that, "We are currently in stage two (out of three) of making this record and couldn't be more excited about what is coming through the speakers...It has been the best recording experience we have had, and are getting exactly what we wanted."
The expected date of release was confirmed during an interview XM Radio did with Marc while the band was at Bonnaroo.

I have added a database to store venue information for the site. A good place to start viewing the new features would be the venue list, which will display every venue O.A.R. has played at or is going to play at. From there you can click on each venue to see the listing of shows played there. This addition required many code changes, and while I think I have caught all of the errors there might still be others. If you encounter any problems, please submit them to me so I can get them fixed. Common problems might include venue names not displaying along with venue cities and states. Also, certain venues might need to be linked together if for example a venue changed names. Please forward any of these changes to me as well. Thanks and enjoy!

As always the festival will take place in Manchester, TN from 06.10.2005 through 06.12.2005. In 2003 O.A.R. played the festival which is held each year on a 700 acre farm. Send an email telling the band what you did to help out a charity during the holidays. We will be checking out your stories so don't make stuff up! There will be one grand prize winner and 3 runners up. All winners will be featured on ofarevolution.com. Prizes are as follows:
Grand Prize: Dinner with the band with you and a friend, 2 free tickets to the show, and you and your friend get to watch the show from side stage!
1st runner up: 2 free tickets to the show of your choice and you and a friend get to hang out with the band before the show!
2nd Runner up: 2 free tickets to a show of your choice as well as a phone call from any member of the band. This is your chance to interview any one member of the band one on one.

In a recent interview Jerry DePizzo said, "We have been locked away at NYC's SIR this past week working on material for the new record due out sometime this late spring/early summer." He added that the group's "been working fairly quickly, finishing about a song a day. We feel very confident about the direction and quality of the new songs and are eager to get back out on the road to test some of them in a few days." O.A.R. will reconvene this winter to write and record additional songs for the new release.

"Sister Hazel and Sixthman are proud to announce The Rock Boat 05, setting sail from New Orleans LA on Thursday, September 29, 2005, aboard the Carnival Sensation.
We are proud to welcome O.A.R. to the lineup and to welcome back Cowboy Mouth. More artists will be announced in the coming weeks.
We haven't picked a destination quite yet, but we believe it's all about the journey.

"We're proud to announce that O.A.R. has been invited to be a headline artist for the fifth annual "The Rock Boat" concert cruise setting sail from New Orleans on Thursday, September 29, 2005. If you're not familiar with the event, "The Rock Boat" is a four-day 'festival at sea' featuring concerts from more than twenty artists in addition to all the amenities of a world class cruise. Great music, great food, cold beer and drink specials, a full casino featuring a Texas Hold'em poker tournament and more, all aboard the fully chartered Carnival Sensation.

O.A.R. will be appearing on CNN Headline News today at 7:30 PM EST all across the nation.
Update: The segment with the band has been pushed back to tomorrow night (09.03.2004) at 10 PM EST and will air every hour after that throughout the night. We apologize for the confusion.
Update v2.0: I have just been informed that due to Hurricane Frances the CNN Headline News segment with O.A.R. will not be airing tonight. It has been rescheduled to air on Monday evening (09.06.2004) beginning at 10:24 PM EST (and then is scheduled to repeat every hour). We apologize for all of the changes.

John Popper of Blues Traveler stopped by the O.A.R. show last night in Las Vegas and played with the guys during the song Anyway. You can now download the track here on oarsa.org!
The band is also overseeing the final touches on a video for Right On Time that they made with NASCAR racing legend Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Looking ahead, O.A.R. will have the opportunity to back Bob Weir and Mickey Hart of The Dead September 20 at a Washington, DC event in support of Senator Patrick Leahy (VT).
One more item of news. 34th & 8th will debut on the Billboard Top 200 in the 80th spot!

34th & 8th is O.A.R.'s second live release and sixth album. The double-disc set and bonus DVD were recorded live at Hammerstein Ballroom (located at the intersection of 34th Street and 8th Avenue in New York City) on November 28th and 29th of 2003. A MESSAGE FROM THE BAND
We hope that everone will enjoy this record as much as we do. We have made it a tradition in a way to play in New York City over the Thanksgiving weekend. When it came time to make another live record, we wanted to capture the band and the audience as one so that the music would jump out of the listner's speakers. NYC was the perfect choice. The emails are being sent, but perhaps they are not reaching your inboxes because of spam filters that are setup. Please check any folders that your emails could possibly be redirected to. If you still cannot find the email, send an email to me at edpaff_jr@oarsa.org. Make sure you do this from the email address you used when signing up, and please include the username that you selected.
If you are just now registering, you can ignore the above. I have removed the requirement for email address verification. Now once you create an account it is automatically activated.

A new tour starts today, and coincidentally a new oarsa.org has been born as well. It took many months to finish and tons of hours in development as well as design, but I honestly believe that it was well worth it. Many of you have said how much you liked oarsa.org in the past, and I can only hope that you like this new version as much as I do!
Our wonderful beta testers have helped us to work out many kinks in the system. Everything SHOULD work, but there will probably be new issues that arise. Don't get discouraged, just report it and we'll fix it. Welcome and enjoy!
